Not my usual fare. But a quick read of short stories/ novella. Oft spotted in a second-hand book sale, finally bought yesterday. A fast read. Sometimes, what you need.
Intrigued by the title which is borrowed from Wallace Stevens poem, Thirteen ways of looking at a backbird. Reads like a show at times. One can almost imagine a teleseries of the name.
Another one that writes grippingly is Tobias Wolff, one of my other dips.

Later - I finished the novella. But the rest of the stories, I just couldn't go through the final one. So this book doesn't make it to the annual list as finished.
